Promoting Health in Greater Williamsburg

The Williamsburg Health Foundation works to improve the health of Greater Williamsburg. The Foundation understands that health is more than health care and promotes healthy living through diet and exercise, especially in our schools.

The Foundation also supports health in the community by disbursing millions of dollars in grants each year to organizations providing health care services to those who could not otherwise access care.

The Foundation values and promotes collaboration and works with leaders in health care, government, education, nonprofit and for-profit businesses, and the community to address the health challenges of today and prepare for those of tomorrow.

SHIP, Child Nutrition Services managers and staff and local chefs partnered to create new recipes for our student customers. In a made-for-TV style cook off, the teams invented tasty, nutritious, affordable, easy to prepare, and kid friendly entrees. The winning dish was Fajita Chicken with Barbeque Vinaigrette and Tomato Relish served over TexMex Rice. Look for these new dishes on the menu at your school.
